Craft Christmas at Beechgrove

Beechgrove  returns for the Winter schedule with a new programme for 2024, Craft Christmas at Beechgrove which was first shown on BBC Scotland on 28/11/2024 at 7.30 pm.

This programme sadly looks like it is only being shown on BBC Scotland but will also be able to be viewed via the BBC iplayer or if your Smart TV includes BBC Scotland.

It is repeated on BBC Scotland on Sunday and Monday.

The programme runs for 4 episodes and although strictly is more Christmas than gardening there is also an element of gardening included in each episode.

Gardeners' World 2024 returns with Monty Don welcoming us to the first of four Gardeners' World Winter Specials 2024.

The first programme was shown a bit too early in my opinion on Friday15 November 2024 on BBC2 and repeated in the Saturday morning Gardening slot and is also available on the BBC iplayer.

These Winter Specials last year started in December but this year it is the following week to the main series ending!

Personally I think January or February would be better scheduling when there is not much to do in the garden!

Charlie Dimmock had previously appeared in several Gardening programmes but was best known for Ground Force and this was a return to TV after a break.

Gardeners' World has had lots of memorable Presenters over the years but in the last few years the Presenters Pets have started to feature more and in some case steal the limelight from them.

Comments on Social Media pages have increased for their furry Co-Presenters and in some cases there is just as much excitement for the pet as the presenter!

Where will it all end, maybe they will even feature in their own web pages as some have been known to have their own social media accounts!

Ashley Edwards

Ashley Edwards is a Head Gardener at Horatio's Garden, Horticulturist, Horticultural Therapist and one of the new Garden Club Members on Alan Titchmarsh's Gardening Club.


Ashley graduated in 2014 from Royal Botanic Gardens with a School of Horticulture Prestigious Diploma, he then worked in America at Longwood Gardens, then onto Sicily as an Intern Garden Manager.

He also worked as Gardener in Charge at Strawberry Hill House & Garden, the former Twickenham residence of Horace Walpole and later Lady Frances Waldegrave.

Ash the Cat, owner of Adam Frost

Ash the Cat from Gardeners' World belongs to Adam Frost TV Gardener or, is it the other way round.

Ash regularly makes appearances when Adam when Gardeners' World is from his garden and usually manages to steal the limelight.

As soon as Adam tries to present, Ash appears looking for mischief, or just to see why the camera crew are in his garden.

We do not have a precise age for Ash but Adam describes him as Ancient. 

Lucy Willcox

Lucy Willcox

Lucy Willcox is an award winning Garden Designer specialising in Contemporary Garden Design and one of the new Gardeners on Alan Titchmarsh's Gardening Club.

Lucy started her career in film and photography gaining a Batchelor of Technology (BTech) followed by a Batchelor's Degree in Photography.

Lucy then progressed from an Assistant Film Editor to Film Producer working on Commercials for many well known brands.


A change of career saw Lucy obtain a Diploma in Garden Design from Inchbald School of Design and she worked as a Garden Designer before opening her own Design Business Lucy Willcox Garden Design in 2007.

Ramona Jones

Ramona Jones is an Author, Content Creator, Cottage Gardener and one of the new Garden Club Members on Alan Titchmarsh's Gardening Club.

Ramona became interested in Gardening in her teens but was embarrassed to share this with her peers.

She has had her current Somerset Garden for approximately 4 years and has turned it from an overgrown, bamboo filled garden into a garden with areas for Cottage Garden flowers, vegetables and an Orchard.

Garden Rescue returns for Series 9 on Monday 29 April 2024 on BBC1 in the afternoon slot and repeated the next morning on BBC2 early morning.

The series this year starts a month early and it will run for 35 episodes.

Leading the Team of Garden Designers is the longest member Charlie Dimmock who has been in the programme since it was first shown in 2016

Returning is Garden Designer Lee Burkhill AKA The Ninja Gardener  who first appeared in Garden Rescue 2021 Series 6.

The last 2 members joined the Team in Garden Rescue 2022 Series 7 are Flo Headlam  and Chris Hull.

Danni Gallacher is a freelance Gardener, Organic Gardener, Permaculturist, Allotmenteer,   Forager, Skateboarder and one of the new Garden Club Members on Alan Titchmarsh's Gardening Club.

Danni grew up in Kent and her first love was Skateboarding which she started as a teenager which led on to her competing and taking part in competitions all over the UK and into Europe and has her own website to empower skaters Girl Skate UK


Danni then started her growing journey and now has her own organic allotment plot in Sheffield which she cultivates using the no dig method and encourages wildlife to visit her organically grown allotment.

She also encourages wild plants to grow so she has easy access to them to make foraging easier and all her produce grows amongst her skateboarding ramp!

Danni is a very experienced forager and has been doing it for over 20 years.

Beechgrove is also available on the BBC iplayer as well as being repeated on the Sunday morning Gardening slot on BBC2.

The series will run for 26 episodes taking us into Autumn 2024.

Jason Williams AKA 'The Cloud Gardener' is a Social Media Gardener, Award winning Garden Designer, Balcony and small space Gardener, Horticulturist, and one of the new Garden Club Members on Alan Titchmarsh's Gardening Club.


Jason used to garden as a child with his grandmother but it was not until his job in hospitality was put on hold with the Covid-19 Pandemic that his career path took a major change.

Monty Don filmed the 3 Episodes of Monty Don's Spanish Gardens over 7 weeks in 2023 and the first Episode aired on BBC2 on 23 February 2024.

This 3 part programme is a welcome addition to the Winter gardening programme schedule for a bit of armchair gardening.

Monty again 'Dons' his Panama Hat and linen suits, his trusty garden exploration uniform and you can tell from his beaming smile he is again in his element exploring these stunning gardens.

Monty Don is back for the first programme of Gardeners' World for the 2024 growing season starting on Friday 15 March 2024 and repeated on BBC2 over the weekend and on the BBC iplayer.

Gardeners' world first started in 1968 with Monty technically being the 7th and 9th presenter of the series.

Monty originally was the presenter from 2003 - 2008 before becoming the most recent presenter in 2011!

Gardeners' World 2024 will run for 32 Episodes.

Alan Titchmarsh welcomes us to the first episode of a whole new gardening programme Alan Titchmarsh's Gardening Club on Monday 4 March 2024 on ITV.

This 1 hour long programme is to run for 10 episodes on a Monday afternoon starting at 2 pm, an unusual time slot for a weekly gardening programme but will also be repeated on Sunday lunch time on ITV.

Camilla Bassett-Smith AKA thebotanicalbobblehat is a Horticulturist, TV Gardener on Love Your Weekend and one of the new Gardener on Alan Titchmarsh's Gardening Club.

Camilla attended the Pershore College of Horticulture for her Horticulture studies and qualified in 2000 and she even  had Chris Beardshaw as one of her tutors!

Sarah Gerrard-Jones

Sarah Gerrard-Jones

Sarah Gerrard-Jones is a Gardener, House Plant Expert, Author of The Plant Rescuer and new House Plant expert on Alan Titchmarsh's Gardening Club.

Sarah became interested in gardening from a young age helping her Grandad, years later when she was a student and had no garden her love for houseplants started.


Sarah attended the Edinburgh College of Arts and graduated with Painting & Drawing BA (Hons) Degree

Anna Greenland

Anna Greenland is an Organic Vegetable Grower, Author, Award Winning Garden Designer and New Gardening Expert
on Alan Titchmarsh's Gardening Club.

Anna started her career as a model and Journalist then she began getting interested in living a more rural lifestyle and moved to Cornwall  to work at the Lost Gardens of Heligan.

She comes from a family of gardeners with both her Mother and Grandmother but she did not get interested in it until she had her own garden.

Wild About Your Garden is a Wildlife Garden Makeover programme first shown on the BBC on 19 November 2008 and repeated 16 years later starting Sunday 21 January 2024 on BBC2.

Series 1 ran for 6 Episodes and attracted over 5 million viewers before it was scrapped in 2009.

The presenters are Nick Knowles, Wildlife Expert, Ellie Harrison and Garden Designer, Chris Beardshaw who later joined the team at The Beechgrove Gardens.
