Craft Christmas at Beechgrove

Beechgrove returns for the Winter schedule with a new programme for 2024, Craft Christmas at Beechgrove which was first shown on BBC Scotland on 28/11/2024 at 7.30 pm.

This programme sadly looks like it is only being shown on BBC Scotland but will also be able to be viewed via the BBC iplayer or if your Smart TV includes BBC Scotland.

It is repeated on BBC Scotland on Sunday and Monday.

The programme runs for 4 episodes and although strictly is more Christmas than gardening there is also an element of gardening included in each episode.

Jean Johansson is the presenter Of Craft Christmas at Beechgrove and she is better known for A Place in The Sun, The One Show and Animal Park as well as Children's TV.

Jean was born in Kenya but raised in Glasgow and as well as appearing on TV as a presenter also writes a column for the Scottish Sunday Mail.

Jean is married to Professional footballer and now Manager Jonatan Johansson and they have a young son.

Also on the programme are the usual Beechgrove Presenters Carole Baxter, Lizzie Schofield, Calum Clunie, Brian Cunningham, Ruth Vichos , Kirsty Wilson and George Anderson

Each week the programme has Christmas ideas, Baking and things you can do or make at home as well as jobs for the Garden and Special Guests.

Week 1 it is how to buy the best tree and what to decorate it with as well as what lights to use and Carole will be in the garden giving you plenty of jobs to do at this time of year.

Week 2 we have a famous Baker giving us Cake recipes and Cocktails, Kirsty making candles, Lizzie making decorations from plants and Brian is in the garden.

Week 3 it is Chocolate bombs, flowering Christmas Cards, gifts for Gardeners and Ninja Knitters as well as the garden jobs round up.

Week 4 and the final week, Lizzie busy crafting with Pine cones and wool, Carole looking at Poinsettias, there are hand painted glasses and Who is the special guest helping George in his garden?

Will this change from last year Programme Beechgrove Gardens in Winter 2023 be popular with all the gardening viewers? Probably not. but I do not know why at this sparse time of Gardening Programmes they have not decided to show it on the rest of the BBC?

Beechgrove do like to evolve and add new elements so I for one am looking forward to watching and getting in the Christmas spirit and to finally get some incentive to finish the Winter jobs I have been putting off!

If its not for you, well if in any other part of the UK except Scotland it will be easy to miss it, but i think shame on you BBC for not including us all! Bah Humbug!
