Alan Titchmarsh introduces us to the 6th series of Love Your Garden which was first aired on 28 June 2016
Alan is again joined by his trusty team of David Domoney, Katie Rushworth and Frances Tophill.
Series 6 featured just 6 episodes and the programme followed the usual format of surprising someone that has a deserving story that would benefit from a garden makeover.
In this series we see circular dance floors, Prayer rooms, sunken trampolines, hot tubs, ponds with flowing streams, Horse Topiary and dessert Islands.
That is without all the planting and landscaping to create these bespoke and themed gardens!
The most memorable episode from Series 6 is Episode 6 for Sam and the Hunter family. Originally the garden was to be for Sam Husband Phil who contacted the show but he sadly died from Skin Cancer aged just 40 before the show could be filmed.
The team were determined that Phil dream garden would happen for his family, wife Sam and children Ethan 14 who was into wildlife, Josh 9 a keen vegetable gardener.
The family have a nature reserve behind their garden and Alan wanted to make use of this asset in his plans, which including taking down the big fence hiding it and adding a building with a window to the reserve.
Phil dream garden turned out to be perfect for all the family to enjoy time in and to remember him in.
This series featured several gardens for children and Episode 2 it was 8 year old Tilly that pulled at everyone's heart strings.
Her parents Emma and Kyle and 2 older brothers and 2 sisters want this garden for her and the whole family to enjoy after an accident when she was a toddler left her with 86% burns to her body.
The garden had the biggest garden building to date to house the family of 7 and loads of arts and crafts, a caravan play house, sunken trampoline as well as wheelchair friendly paths and sitting and dining areas. Facebook
The stories behind the applications to appear are often heart breaking, then during the build you are urging them to do their very best and build the most amazing garden possible.
The grand reveal and the tears of joy at the life changing garden, revealed before them all neat and tidy and everything in its place.
Followed by the smiles of the family and friends popping the sparkly.
Then the niggling bite of envy when you look at your plot and wish Alan would come and do yours!
Sadly they are never going to run out of gardens to do and with Alan as the lead of the team, like or dislike him, he knows how to make us Love Your Garden!
