Ruth Vichos is a Horticultural Lecturer, New Garden Expert and Presenter on Beechgrove Garden 2024
After a varied career in retail and Customer Service, Ruth studied for a Bachelor's degree Horticultural Science at The University of Glasgow followed by a Master's degree Food Security at The University of Edinburgh.
Ruth then started as a Agricultural Development Advisor for The Eleanor Foundation in Tanzania
She studied for City and Guilds Level 3 Award in Education and Training
Ruth then started working at Scotland's Rural College becoming a Lecturer in Agriculture Horticulture And Engineering Sciences and Programme Lead.
Ruth Vichos joins the 2024 line up of presenters on Beechgrove Garden including the longest serving presenter Carole Baxter as well as George Anderson, Brian Cunningham, Kirsty Wilson, Calum Clunie and Lizzie Schofield.
Ruth made her first appearance in Episode 4 on 25 April 2024 from SRUC where she spoke about the composition of peat free compost ad potted on some red peppers she had grown from seed with her daughter.
Next time we saw her visiting Leanne and her allotment to help her with her gardening problems and then in the Beechgrove Garden.
Ruth finally made her presenting debut in Episode 14 on 04/07/2024 when her and Lizzie Schofield were in Beechgrove with Ruth taking Soft wood cuttings and discussing grass clippings.
