Garden Rescue returned to our screens for the Fourth series on 29 April 2019 on BBC1.
Charlie Dimmock who has been in the programme since it started in 2016 returns along side The Rich Brothers Harry & David Rich who have also has been in it from the start.
Arit Anderson is the new presenter joining them for Series 4 and has a background in Design and an holistic wellbeing.
Arit debut on Garden Rescue in Episode 2 on 30 April 2019 caused some concern for the viewers as she featured in several episodes with no sign of Charlie Dimmock.
She was not a replacement but a welcome addition to the show.
Arit did not appear on the opening titles of the new series which was a strange decision as it seems like she was a completely separate Garden Designer and not part of the team as yet.
In fact she had a whole separate titles with the Rich Brothers Harry and David which were just of programmes they were in together!
I think this helped start the rumour that Arit was a replacement for Charlie as they never appeared in an episode together until Garden Rescue Series 5 Episode 15, this may be due to filming schedules or a deliberate decision we will never know!
News articles at the time say that Charlie was taking a break and that fans were not happy with Arit as a replacement but personally I thing Arit brought a fresh approach to the team and was a welcome addition.
The programme followed the usual format of the Garden Designers coming up with a design on a budget and the homeowner choosing a design that is completed and revealed during the show.
Looking back it did not feel like this series was fragmented having the 2 very separate titles and Garden Design partners but I am glad Arit got a better welcome to the team in the next series.
Some of the memorable garden Makeovers from the series include a couple who had worked on a cruise Ship for 10 years, a couple who were having their wedding reception in their garden and a New York Highline inspired garden.
The programme airs during the late afternoon slot of 3.45 pm daily during the week days and is the ideal time to sit down with a cuppa and do some armchair gardening, it is also repeated the next morning, as well as old programmes popping up at any time the BBC has a slot to fill!
