Jamie Butterworth is an Award Winning Gardener, Plantsman, Nursery Owner and new Presenter on Gardeners' World 2023
Jamie interest in gardening started at the age of 9 years old when he made an allotment in his Grandparents garden in Wakefield.
In 2011 Jamie was a finalist on BBC3 Young Gardener of the Year aged just 16.
Jamie co-founded Younghort which has since ceased to encourage young people to start careers in Horticulture.
He went on to study at RHS Wisley where he achieved a Diploma in Practical Horticulture with Distinction in 2015
Jamie then went on to be a Show Plant Manager for a Nursery and a Horticultural expert for a stone company as well as having his own Horticultural company.
Jamie is Managing Director Of Form Plants based in Surrey, which he established in 2020 after becoming frustrated not being able to buy the right plants he wanted from Nurseries. So he started his own.
Jamie is a Gold Medal winning Garden Designer with his garden at RHS Chatsworth in 2019 not only winning a Gold Medal but also Best Show Garden, Best Construction Award, Peoples Choice!
In 2022 he won his first Gold Medal at RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
Jamie is an Ambassador for The Royal Horticultural Society as well as an Ambassador for Place2Be a Children's Mental Health Charity.
Jamie Butterworth made his debut as a presenter on Gardeners' World 2023 on Friday 22 September 2023 when he showed us the gardens at Scampston Hall.
He had previously appeared in April 2023 when he spoke to Carol Klein via zoom about her plans for RHS Hampton Court.
