Scott Smith is the former Head Gardener at Beechgrove Gardens and a new Presenter for Beechgrove Garden 2023.
Scott after studying for RHS L3 Diploma in the Principles and Practices of Horticulture and MHort with Royal Horticultural Society and has worked in various Gardening positions.
His last position was as Head Gardener of Pitmedden Garden and Haddo House for the National Trust for Scotland.
Scott also writes a weekly gardening column for 2 publications and actually took over a column from Beechgrove's very own Jim McColl.
He started as Head Gardener at Beechgrove in January 2023 and admits to being a big fan of the programme.
Scott Smith joins the 2023 line up of presenters including the longest serving presenter Carole Baxter as well as George Anderson, Brian Cunningham, Kirsty Wilson, Calum Clunie and fellow newcomers Diana Yates & Lizzie Schofield
BBC Scotland Flagship gardening programme Beechgrove returned to our screens on Thursday 06 April 2023 in Scotland and on BBC2 on Friday 07 April 2023.
Scott is a welcome addition to the Beechgrove Team with a vast knowledge of Horticulture and a cheery smile in front of the camera.
With Beechgrove Garden in its 45th Year, Scott and his gardening team are also busy making changes to the garden behind the scenes assisting the Team on new projects within the garden.
Scott Smith did not appear as a presenter on Beechgrove Gardens 2024 and left his Head Gardener role in May 2024 to become Head Gardener on The Mayan Estate in Banffshire, Scotland.
