Christopher Beardshaw is a Gardener, Landscape Architect and Horticulturist, Award winning Garden Designer, Author and previous TV Presenter of Beechgrove Garden.
Chris was born on 11 January 1969, he may have got his love for gardening from his Grandmother, who was a no nonsense gardener that grew everything she could and he learnt a lot from her.
For his fourth birthday he was given his first propagator along with some seeds and a watering can.
When he was young his parents also moved to a rural area in Worcestershire and started growing their own fruit and vegetables.
He grew up surrounded by orchards and crops.
When he was older he had a job working at a plant nursery where he learnt to prick out and grow plants.

He went back to his studies to gain a BA Hons and PGDip in Landscape Architecture from the University of Gloucestershire.
Chris Beardshaw has been a Lecturer on Garden Design, Horticulture and Garden History for over 27 years, working both full time and now as a guest lecturer.

After being spotted whilst lecturing at Pershore College, Chris first appeared on a programme called Surprise Gardeners in 1999 as the garden expert.
Each episode saw a different garden designer making over someone garden in just a day.
In 2001, the strange combination of helicopters and gardening saw Chris flying all over the country as a gardening Agony Uncle in Flying Gardeners.
Even the garden owner got to fly in the helicopter piloted by Michael Malric-Smith as they look down on their own garden and what needs to be done to solve their gardening dilemmas.
In 2007, Chris joined Monty Don on Gardeners' World as a presenter, he had already been presenting on RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
Chris Beardshaw is married to wife Frances Toase and they have three grown up daughters, he lives near Cirencester, Gloucestershire.

This was a blow for the active Chris as the pain and inflammation spread it caused him real difficulty in walking and the possibility that he may have ended up in a wheelchair.
As an adult he has adapted his life style and mindset to learn to live with his condition without the use of anti-inflammatory medicines and looking towards a more holistic and diet based solutions.
